2011: ¡ Y Ahora Qué ! is released
¡ Y Ahora Qué ! has been released in April 2011 and quickly distributed in Italy and in the U.S.A. Thanks to the success of the "Espacio y Tiempo" video clip on Youtube, La Contrabanda decides to shoot a new clip on "Nadie es Profeta en su Tierra", a song that resolutely looks into the future.
2010: Miami and international collaborations, Act II.
In winter, La Contrabanda flies back to Miami to shoot "Espacio y Tiempo", and they took the opportunity to achieve a new international collaboration on "Dolores (La Malvada)" with
Ricky Luis, another rising star in modern salsa and ex lead-singer of portorican band N'Klabe.
2009 : Miami and international collaborations, Act I.
In summer, La Contrabanda flies to Miami to have their second album mixed by Immanuel Ramirez, sound-engineer for artists such as Elvis Crespo, N'Klabe, and many others. Meanwhile, the band meets
Kevin Ceballo, a portorican singer voted "singer of the year" in 2000. From this unexpected encounter, a wonderful collaboration is born on "Espacio y Tiempo", making this song the first single of the album ¡ Y Ahora Qué !

2008: Live at Fun Radio and Arte TV
La Contrabanda get the attention of the national media via Cauet (Fun Radio live) and thanks to Manu Katche (MK show "One Shot Not" on Arte TV, broadcasted in October 2008). It was a day dream for the band, thanks for the welcome to the artists backstage and the pleasure to meet Manu with his musicians, and the leader of Calexico who invited the brass section to an unforgettable jam session.
2007: Concert in Cali, Colombia
Invited by EKC Producciones, La Contrabanda realizes the dream of each salsero: to play in Cali, the world capital of salsa, for the largest festive and cultural event of the year, the Feria of Cali.
The band benefited from an heavy media coverage (several radios and TVs, full pages in the press). This trip opened new commercial and musical horizons for the band, but remained, most of all, the heaviest collective and human adventure experienced by the musicians.
2006: New album "Romántica Dura"
After many months of hard work, rehearsals and studio sessions, La Contrabanda does the production as well now.
The album "Romántica Dura" celebrates its launch at La Flèche d'Or, with the support of Radio Latina, who decided to regularly playlist the single "No Imaginas" on its antenna. In April 2007, the album is distributed nationwide by Mosaic Music Distribution
2004: A new identity
In 2004 the band, now renamed La Contrabanda decides to create, compose and arrange its own song list to progressively put aside cover songs and build its musical identity: a modern and urban salsa, based on the latest developments in the Puerto Rican and Cuban scene.
The 90's : The genesis
La Contrabanda began his career under another name, as a coverband. Playing Puertorican, Cuban New-York and Colombian salsa standards led the band to play in many prestigious places such as le Stade de France, le Moulin Rouge, Aquaboulevard and La Défense.
